10 Life Lessons That Took Me 62 Years to Learn
It’s my 63rd birthday in a few days' time, so I thought I’d pass on some knowledge I picked up over the years.

Nowadays, from what people say, it’s easy to think all life lessons come from Twitter and LinkedIn! (get up at 5 am, workout, don’t watch TV… all trite BS)
But most of mine actually arrived while sitting in cafés, recovering from mistakes, and watching the world go by.
Here are 10 of the big ones I’d pass on if we were chatting over coffee.
Take what you need.
Ignore the rest.
I learned most of the hard way, travelling alone across Europe at 18, serving 12 years in the Army, owning businesses, losing businesses buying houses, losing houses.
And finally, by being happy and content with the life I finally built.
It’s all been a valuable life lesson.
