Don’t “Fake It ‘Till You Make It”
There is a better way!
I am convinced that 95% of the accounts I see on Social Media subscribe to the school of thought that tells people to “Fake It Until You Make It.”
Yesterday Evan Kelly posted about a question he got in reply to his comment : “Write, make friends & stay consistent” (great advice BTW!)
The question he got was, “How do you make friends”
Not a bad question from someone starting out … but from someone whose profile says…
Not so much a good question.
Do not try to fake it until you make it. There is a better way.
Use Your Actual Experience or Lack Of Experience As a Positive
Let’s start with a quick question, if you were building a WordPress site for the first time, who would you rather listen to
A) A “guru” who built his first site 20 years ago? And has forgotten more than most people know.
B) A guy who built and published his first site three weeks ago and remembers all the issues he had to overcome?
Instead of faking it until you make it, be honest and work with an audience who are a few steps behind you.
