Why You Should Give Away Information For Free

If you are selling products or courses online, it’s wise never to forget the words of those well-known course creators, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

“Give it away, give it away, give it away now.”

If you are selling online, common questions frequently arises;

  • If you give away too much free information, why would anyone pay for your course?
  • What Should You Give away?

In fact, I regularly get asked the same questions.

Despite this, there’s a growing consensus among successful course creators that sharing free content is not only okay but beneficial for course sales.

Let’s explore why.

Building Authority, Trust and Credibility

Firstly, sharing free information helps to establish your credibility.

It highlights your expertise on the subject matter and demonstrates to potential customers that you know what you’re talking about. You show that you can be considered as an authority.
