The one thing most marketers need to do is to listen more.
There is untold value in ignoring the noise and listening to what people are saying and watching what they are doing.
A top marketer launches a new offer… listen to what he says about it. Read between the lines. Usually, there is far more value in looking at how they are marketing than in buying the offer.
Listen To Your Peers
First, let me clarify what I mean by listening, as well as listening in the traditional sense, I also mean listening to what they are saying in the content they publish or the actions they take. Try reading between the lines as well as reading what is written.

Your peers and fellow marketers are your most valuable source of ideas, but they frequently tell you what they think you want to hear.
I was reading an old report from 10+ years ago this morning and it was talking about a visit to Google’s headquarters for a 4-day event that a good friend was invited to.
He was there as part of a group of the top 15 Adsense earners that year.
