Cut Your Opening in Half
Most intros waffle. The real gold is usually hidden after paragraph three. (count them!)
Once you’ve written your intro, try chopping the first half. You’ll start closer to the action and hook the reader faster.
Particularly for the intro, be brutal with the editing… does that part need to be there, or can you add it further down the article?
