What Can Medium Do To Improve?
A Lot Of Things Aren’t Making Sense?
Over recent months, there has been a lot of negativity about the direction Medium seems to be heading. I admit that I am among the people who are very unhappy with the way things have been going.
- Income down by over 2/3rds
- Obvious AI content is getting thousands of views.
- Boosting seems ripe for abuse.
But complaining is not my usual mode of action. I like to offer solutions.
So here are some things I’d like Medium to address.

Here are some things I’d like to see addressed that would help writers feel happier with the direction Medium is going.
AI Detection
I’ve covered this in a previous article, but there are many obviously AI-created articles being posted.
A simple AI detection change would at least make it possible for suspected articles to be shadow-banned or looked at more closely and a wording given.
