I get this question a lot, and for good reason. I recommend that content creators have both Daily articles and weekly newsletters, and it can lead to some confusion.

If you’ve ever searched online for the difference between an article and a newsletter, you’ve probably found a load of conflicting advice.

Some say they’re the same. Others turn it into a technical debate. But here’s how I use them, and more importantly, why I use both.

I’ve frequently described a newsletter as being the product and an article the means of discovery, and that still is one of the better descriptions I’ve come across.

But we can go deeper and clarify this a little better and hopefully, you’ll see why you should have both.

Articles Start the Conversation

Articles are the public front door to your world, the billboard announcing your ideas.

They’re discoverable.

They are shareable. (You do share my articles, don’t you 🙀)

Articles are a place for new readers to become familiar with your ideas. Think of them as an invitation into your world and ideas.
