A few days ago, Justin Welsh posted something that stuck with me.
He was talking about moving his audience over to Substack. It only took 48 hours for them to follow him and give him the #1 newsletter in the business niche… 48 hours from new to #1
But the part that matters?
“Earning the right to ask took 7 years.”
That line hit me hard…. reread it!
It didn’t take 48 hours; it took 7 years.
People see the results, the clicks, the followers, the sales and assume it was some clever trick or hack or even worse… luck.
What they don’t see is the years of showing up. Writing when no one’s reading.
Two years ago, no one was reading my articles…
But I stuck with it…
Writing when no one’s clapping. Helping without asking for anything in return.
It’s not magic.
It’s not a shortcut.
