Don’t reinvent the wheel

I read, I read A LOT.

In fact, I have read almost every day for five years. I should hit that milestone later this year.

On average, I read for two hours a day, so that’s a lot of (useless!)knowledge I’ve acquired.

This post isn’t designed to impress you with my reading abilities It’s to get you thinking about how simple some business models can be.

I’ve been a Kindle Unlimited member for several years, and as a result, I downloaded a lot of Historical Fiction books. I noticed that several of the authors were published by a digital publisher called Lume Books.

These were exclusively Kindle, Kindle Unlimited and Paperback.. so they were probably using Amazon KDP to publish.

Their job was to do the final edits, publish, and promote. They did this via email, as each book had the option to sign up and get a free book each week.

Fast forward a few years, and they got acquired by another digital publisher: Joffe Books.
