The Fish Cost How Much? -The Art Of Creating Great Emails

A couple of weeks ago I posted an article about my system for creating Story based emails that convert. (Life In The S.L.O Lane).

Afterward’s I go asked to show some examples of the types of emails that system of writing produced.

The system is simple: S.L.O

Story — Write about something that has happended to you in a narrative form. Recount the event and include as many details as you want, your aim is to bring the person into the story, so they can imagine being with you.

Anything can be a story, it doesn’t need to be a wild and exciting event! tell me about your trip to the supermarket or coffee shop… don’t think it has to be a blockbuster.

Lesson — Now give your reader a lesson they can take away from the story. Start simple, over time you’ll find more in depth and not so obvious lessons.

Offer/Outcome — Finally present an offer to the reader, (alternatively present the outcome you desire, (sign up, read this, etc) refer back to the lesson and the story. For example in the email below I referred to “Burger pricing” for one of my products.

The product had nothing to do with fish or burgers.
